Description
 Growing Kindness for Tu B’Shevat

Celebrate Tu B’Shevat—the birthday of the trees—by helping kindness take root in our community! Families are invited to decorate and pot mini succulent plants that will be delivered to local seniors. In Jewish tradition, Tu B’Shevat reminds us to appreciate growth and to share good things with others. This hands-on project gives kids a meaningful way to bring joy to older adults and show Kibud Zekaynim (honoring our elders). Come plant, create, and do a mitzvah together!

Perfect for families with kids ages 5-10!

At JFCS' Palo Alto office.

Please separately register each person who will be coming, so we know exact numbers (including children). Thank you! 🤗

✨ You can also make a donation to help cover the cost of supplies — every gift helps us plant more kindness!  Click here to donate.

JFCS' Mitzvah Makers is a volunteer, Jewish service learning program for families. It’s a great way to teach the next generation about giving back and being part of a caring Jewish community.

Online registration for this event closes on January 31, 2026.
