Frontline Prophet: James Baldwin is a traveling exhibition featuring the artwork of Detroit-based creative Sabrina Nelson.

In honor of Baldwin’s centennial birthday, Nelson offers an intimate, multi-sensory tribute to his life and legacy. This unique exhibition emerges from Nelson’s profound meditation on Baldwin and her 91-day commitment to capture his essence through her art.

Highlights include:
✨ A seven-year sketchbook study reflecting Baldwin's spirit
Vivid works on paper and canvas inspired by his genius
Projected video installations and collaborative works with contemporary writers and thinkers
Augmented reality experiences that bring Baldwin’s legacy to life
