A virtual monthly event where we showcase the works of a single artist, followed by an engaging open Q&A session.

Rob McCabe


Mr. McCabe is the first openly Queer Poet Laureate of The City of Gulfport. He is a graduate of the MFA in Creative Writing low-residency program at the University of Tampa, in Tampa, Florida. His poetry has appeared twice in RFD magazine (Summer 2015 and Summer 2016), and his poem, “Junky” was published in 2019 in Sunny Side Down: A Charles Bukowski Tribute. Two of his fiction pieces were published: one in Discovery, a collection of LGBTQ science fiction, fantasy and horror stories, published by QPB Press in 2015, the other, “Gotterdammerung” in  Dawn of the Trump, a collection of Dystopian fiction. In 2018, he published his first collection of poetry, “Junky” with Dark Horse Florida Publishing, LLC and a short story, “The Witch’s Tale,” in the Running Wild Anthology of Stories, Volume 4, Book 2, published by Running Wild Press, in 2020.  In 2020, two of his screenplays, Absolution and Fixated were turned into short films which were presented at the Suncoast Film Festival. Both films are available on YouTube.com. In 2018, he performed his one-man show, Queer  at The Gulfport Arts Center in Gulfport, Florida. He has also performed at several open mics including The Studio@620 in St. Petersburg, Florida.
