Get out in the fresh air with NEXT Village to enjoy live concert bands at the 14th annual Golden Gate Park Band Festival. We'll be arriving to cheer on the Deutscher Musikverein, a band NEXT Village member Linda Coughenour performs with, on the Music Concourse in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park. However for those who want to make a day of it, there is a full day of great music or other things to do in GG Park. The group will stick around for a few bands, and then people can go off on their own or with new or old friends to stretch their legs walking around the nearby SF Botanical Gardens, visiting another GG Park museum or destination, or sticking around for a full afternoon of concert band music (bands perform from 11AM to 5PM - click HERE for band schedule)!

11AM - Woodside Village Band is composed of amateur musicians from the communities of the SF Peninsula. The group was organized in 1988 with the goal of bringing the music of the wind ensemble and the concert band to the local community. www.windband.org/woodside
Noon - Since 1938, the Deutscher Musikverein has entertained audiences around the SF Bay Area with traditional German marches, polkas, European folk, and concert pieces in addition to favorites of jazz, pop, and Broadway. www.sfgermanband.org
1 PM - Ophir Prison Marching Kazoo Band and Temperance Society, Lmtd. (Pronounced as in "O-fer-pete's sake," Ophir is a small gold rush town just west of Auburn, California.) According to their website, there are no violent criminals in the band). http://ophirprison.com/

This event is free. No NEXT Village membership required. Friends/family are welcome (just make sure your guests register themselves so we know how much space to try to reserve!!!)

This is an IN PERSON, outdoor event.
Register in advance to receive meeting up directions so you can find our group. Starting location will be on the Music Concourse in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park.
By registering for this event, you acknowledge that you are fully Covid vaccinated and have received at least one booster, are able to walk unassisted without support, and that you won't hold NEXT Village liable for things that hopefully won't, but could happen, when you are out in the sun (we hope, or fog & wind if it's a normal SF day) enjoying outdoor music.
