Holocaust & Resistance Virtual Tour with The Contemporary Jewish Museum

When?
Wednesday, Sep 28 2:00PM - 3:00PM PDT

Where?
Online

Description
NEXT Village is lucky enough to have a presenter from the Contemporary Jewish Museum to lead us on a journey through past and current exhibitions, exploring the life stories of artists before and during World War II, and their determination to resist the Nazi regime, and survive.

In this virtual tour, we will learn the stories of the photographer Roman Vishniac, artists Claude Cahun and Marcel Moore, and the remarkable story of puppeteers, Mike and Frances Oznowicz from the 2022 exhibition Oz is for Oznowicz: A Puppet Family's History.

They hope that by sharing these stories and bringing to light examples of artistic resistance connected to the Holocaust, they encourage conversation and contemplation, and further Holocaust education and lessons in fighting antisemitism, hate, and authoritarianism today.
