WHAT TO BRING
  • Dress in layers! Weather by the SF Bay can be windy and chilly.
Recommended: sunglasses, sunscreen, scarf, gloves, jacket, hat that won't blow off, etc. As you know San Francisco weather can change from hot to cold if a breeze picks up, so layers recommended. Only rain will cancel. The usual SF fog will not deter us! Forecast currently shows 5/28 will be partly cloudy, mid 60s, but San Franciscan's know it will feel cooler if there's a breeze.
  • Comfortable walking shoes (walking sticks optional)
  • FILLED water bottle (one water fountain is available at front of Sports Basement by the restrooms, but it may have a line so PLEASE fill up before leaving home)
  • Please note there will be no food or drinks available at Sports Basement before the walk. Closest cafe is at Tunnel Tops 1/3 of a mile away. We recommend you eat before or bring a snack. There are picnic tables and benches at Tunnel Tops if you want to bring a lunch and have a picnic with a view before checking in. Il Parco cafe is by the 43 bus stop at the Tunnel Tops Transit Center- click here for menus. You can click here to see the two Presidio food truck options for Wednesday from 11am - 3pm in the Main Parade Ground parking area across from the Presidio Visitor Center.
  • Camera or smartphone for scenic photo opportunities
  • Most people are coming on their own to this event, so please help us make everyone feel welcome with a smile and introduce yourself and keep others company on the walk. It's a great way to meet new people and try to find out all the things you have in common while enjoying a beautiful walk! Walkers will have color coded beads, so you can find others in your walking group before the walk starts.
