The Amazing Birds of San Francisco

When?
Thursday, Nov 17 2:00PM - 3:30PM PST

Where?
Online

Description
Almost 500 species of birds have been seen in San Francisco -- more than 40% of all species seen in the entire United States. Twice a year millions of birds migrate over the City, and many species make San Francisco their home.

In this Zoom presentation you will hear why San Francisco is such a unique place for birds, learn some amazing bird facts and see some of the colorful and interesting birds that make this their home or a stopping place during migration.

We'll focus on some of the amazing bird hotspots for the City, like Fort Mason, where more than 180 species have been reported so far this year; the Farallon Islands, which is teeming with seabirds during nesting season; and the Presidio, which provides habitat for a wide range of species.

Even if you are not a birder, this presentation will open your eyes to the natural wonders around us. David's incredible photographs and stories about the birds will undoubtedly inspire you to take notice of the birds that fly through and around San Francisco.

This event is free and no membership is required, so please invite friends and groups that may be interested in joining us for this Zoom presentation.
