Join us to visit Institute on Aging's Adult Day Program at the Enrichment Center in the Presidio. The Enrichment Center is home to Companioa, Institute on Aging’s comprehensive dementia services program, which brings together key pieces of a dementia care plan including home care, concierge client care, caregiver coaching, and the adult day program.
If you are not familiar with adult day care programs, they provide care and companionship for older adults who need assistance or supervision during the day.
The Companioa Adult Day Program offers social, cognitive, and physical activities for individuals living with dementia, allowing them to remain engaged and connected to the community while providing caregivers with a much-needed break. Participants often see improved mood, an increase in mind and body activity, slowed cognitive decline, better sleep and wake patterns, as well as a reduction in isolation and loneliness.
Open Monday – Friday, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, the Adult Day Program at the Enrichment Center in the Presidio provides:
- A modern, safe, supportive environment
- A respite for caregivers, allowing time to recharge
- A connection to community and access to educational resources for caregivers
- Assistance with door-to-door transportation
- Daily group exercise
- Mental and intellectual stimulation
- Activities that encourage artistic expression
- Personalized daily care
- Homemade meals made with fresh ingredients
- Assistance with getting to the bathroom, walking, and dining
Join us for a small group tour of the Enrichment Center to learn more about how Companioa can support those with cognitive and physical challenges, while providing family members with respite opportunities. The adult day program costs $100 per day, however, there are grants available that we will learn about during the tour!
We also invite you to learn more about how to join the program’s vibrant volunteer program, which will further connect you to the community.
