Walking Tour: Castro Surprises

When?
Wednesday, Jul 27 1:00PM - 2:30PM PDT

Where?
In-person

Description
You may think you know the Castro, but you probably have not seen all of its myriad treasures, many of which are hidden in plain site. There are the charming children's mosaics at the Harvey Milk Academy, the amazing Caselli Mansion (a Queen Anne on steroids), an interesting Spanish style home once lived in by Robin Williams, and the thought provoking Pink Triangle Park, to name a few.

Follow John Nockels, an experienced tour guide, for a fun and informative walk through the neighborhood. There is one steep hill, but an alternate route will be provided for those who don't want to tackle the hill!

Please note:
  • Register in advance to receive starting address and "how to find us" detailed directions. Starting location will be by the intersection of Market & Castro.
  • By registering for this event, you acknowledge that you are fully Covid vaccinated and have received at least one booster, are able to walk a minimum of 3+ miles unassisted without support, and that you won't hold NEXT Village liable for things that hopefully won't, but could happen, when you are out for a walk.
  • There is an option to walk up a steep San Francisco hill for more history, or to take an alternate route with a gentle slope.

If you have any mobility challenges and want to check if this walk is appropriate for you, or if you want to volunteer to help us with this or other walking events, please email Donna - donna [at] nextvillagesf.org

Sorry! The event you're trying to register for has already happened. Please return to the event calendar to see what upcoming events we have or contact NEXT Village at (415) 574-0156 if you'd like to learn about similar upcoming events.
