“We help each other to appreciate the little things in life and find humor in everything.”
Did you see Mon Ami companion service on Good Morning America this weekend? We are so excited that more seniors and their adult caregivers are learning about how we match seniors with college students to live more fully.
Keith shares the story of caring for his mom, Ruthie, a retired ceramics artist and art history teacher who is 86 and has dementia. Though he visits often, Keith worries that Mom is lonely when he can’t be there. That’s where Mon Ami comes in! Ruthie is now the student – Laura, a local artist attending West Valley College, is teaching her how to paint! They also go out for lunch, to museums, and spend quality time together. Watch their story of connecting across the generations.
